Privacy at a glance
The protection of your personal data is important to me. In line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), this policy explains which data is collected when you visit this website, how it is used and which rights you have.
Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of Art. 4 (7) GDPR is:
amann one
Christoph Amann
Enderlegasse 6

There is no legal obligation to appoint a data protection officer in my case.
Hosting
This website is hosted by an external service provider (host). The personal data collected on this website is stored on the host's servers. This may include IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data and other data generated via a website.
The host is used in the interest of a secure, fast and reliable provision of this website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the host.
Provider: IONOS SE, Eigendorfer Straße 57, D-56410 Montabaur, Germany

Server log files
When you visit this website, the provider automatically collects information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. These are: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and the IP address.
This data is not merged with other data sources. It is collected on the basis of the legitimate interest in a technically error-free presentation and optimisation of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Log files are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Contact
If you send me enquiries by email or phone, your details, including the contact data you provide, are stored by me for the purpose of handling the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. I do not pass this data on without your consent.
The contact form on this website opens your email program with a prepared message. The details you enter are processed (name, email address, message and, optionally, company and phone number). The message is only sent to me via your email provider; the website itself does not store it.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract. In all other cases, processing is based on my legitimate interest in handling enquiries addressed to me effectively (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Your data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for its purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Online appointment booking
To arrange conversations, I use Microsoft Bookings from Microsoft Corporation. The “Intro call” buttons on this website lead to a booking page hosted by Microsoft. By clicking, you leave this website. The data you enter there (e.g. name, email address, preferred time) is processed by Microsoft to enable the booking.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient scheduling). For transfers of data to the USA, Microsoft relies on appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses / EU-US Data Privacy Framework). For details, see the Microsoft privacy statement.
Fonts
The font “Montserrat” is delivered from my own server. No connection to Google or other third-party servers is established for this when you open the pages.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated (including IP address, pages visited, time on site, device used, origin of the visit) is transmitted to Google and processed there.
IP anonymisation is enabled on this website. Your IP address is therefore truncated by Google within the EU/EEA before being transmitted to a server in the USA.
Consent and withdrawal
Google Analytics is only used if you have actively given your consent beforehand via the cookie banner. Without your consent, no data is transmitted to Google. The legal basis is therefore your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR in conjunction with § 25 (1) TDDDG (formerly TTDSG). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of this website.
Third-country transfer and retention period
For data transfers to Google in the USA, Google relies on appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR (in particular EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). Cookies set by Google Analytics and stored user identifiers are deleted automatically after 14 months at the latest.
For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, see the Google privacy policy.
External links (LinkedIn, Amazon, partners)
This website contains links to my profile on the LinkedIn network (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company), to my book on Amazon and to the partners nextvert and SpeakWith.AI. These are simple links. No plugins or content from these services are embedded, and no data is transmitted to them merely by visiting this website. Only when you actively click a link are you forwarded to the respective provider, whose privacy terms apply there, e.g. the LinkedIn privacy policy. The links to the partners contain a referral identifier.
Cookies and local storage
Apart from the consent-based cookies described under “Google Analytics”, this website does not set any further tracking cookies and does not use advertising services.
Your browser stores two items in local storage: your decision on the cookie banner (acceptance or refusal, key “consent”), so that you are not asked again on your next visit, and your choice on the light/dark switch (key “theme”). This information stays on your device only, is not passed on to third parties and serves solely your convenience. You can delete it at any time via your browser settings.
Legal bases and retention period
Where I obtain your consent for processing, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR serves as the legal basis. For processing to perform a contract or take pre-contractual steps, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR applies. For compliance with legal obligations, Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR applies. In all other cases, I base the processing on my legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
Your personal data is stored only for as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by statutory retention periods (e.g. under commercial and tax law). Once the purpose has ceased or these periods have expired, the data is deleted as a matter of routine.
Your rights as a data subject
You have the following rights regarding your personal data (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR):
Access, rectification, erasure
You have the right to obtain information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the processing (Art. 15 GDPR), as well as the right to rectification (Art. 16) or erasure of this data (Art. 17).
Restriction and data portability
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data (Art. 18 GDPR) and the right to receive data that I process automatically on the basis of your consent or to perform a contract in a commonly used, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR).
Objection and withdrawal
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your data (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
In the event of data protection violations, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (LfDI BW), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
To exercise your rights, an informal message to datenschutz@amann.one is sufficient.
